Dry Cleaning

The band was formed in South London in 2017 by Florence Shaw (vocals), Tom Dowse (guitar), Lewis Maynard (bass), and Nick Buxton (drums). Instead of traditional singing, Shaw delivers her lyrics like an ironic sermon, while the rest of the band builds a minimalist yet tense post-punk backdrop that evokes the spirit of bands like Wire or Joy Division.

Following their early EPs Sweet Princess (2018) and Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks (2019), they won over a wider audience with their acclaimed debut album New Long Leg (2021). Produced by John Parish, the record earned them numerous nominations for prestigious music awards. Stumpwork (2022) further expanded their musical range, winning them a Grammy for Best Recording Package in 2024. In early 2026, they released their third studio album, Secret Love, further solidifying their creative identity and position on the contemporary scene.
