IDLES

Hailing from Bristol, the powerhouse five-piece - Joe Talbot (vocals), Adam Devonshire (bass), Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan (guitars), and Jon Beavis (drums) - first came together in 2009. Over the following years, IDLES honed their signature sound of fury and compassion through a trio of EPs (“Welcome,” “Meat,” and “Meta”). The perfect balance arrived with their debut album “Brutalism” (2017), a raw, visceral statement that caught the attention of critics and helped define a new era of British post-punk. Just over a year later came “Joy as an Act of Resistance”, the breakthrough record that catapulted IDLES from the underground to global acclaim earning them Mercury Prize and BRIT Award nominations. The band followed up with the electrifying “Ultra Mono” (2020) and the critically acclaimed “Crawler” (2022), solidifying their status as one of the most vital voices in modern rock.

Since their unforgettable INmusic debut, IDLES have soared to the top of the international music scene. Their latest and highly anticipated album “Tangk” (2024), co-produced by Nigel Godrich and Kenny Beats, explores love as only Joe Talbot can - loud, raw, and almost sermon-like. Love, for Talbot, is both weapon and salvation, while the band wraps his words in warmer, more melodic tones, crafting their most tender yet most ambitious record to date. “Tangk” earned them an impressive four Grammy nominations, capping off a whirlwind few years that have seen world tours, magazine covers, and even a foray into film - scoring Darren Aronofsky’s new movie “Caught Stealing”.
