Amsterdam six-piece Nusantara Beat arrive at INmusic Festival #18

Amsterdam-based six-piece Nusantara Beat join the impressive lineup of the 18th edition of INmusic Festival, bringing with them a contemporary interpretation of 20th-century traditional Indonesian music.

Deeply connected to their Indonesian roots, Nusantara Beat explore the richness of the country’s musical heritage without treating it as something static. Instead, they approach tradition as living material — reshaping and reimagining it through a fresh, modern lens.

Their sound blends traditional Indonesian songs from the 20th century with the band’s own creative vision. The result is a captivating mix of tropical rhythms and mystical atmospheres that takes listeners on a musical journey towards the land of their ancestors. Yet Nusantara Beat go beyond homage; they aim to highlight the diversity of Indonesian music and carry it forward into the present. In their hands, traditional motifs gain new, contemporary meaning. The band’s debut single received airplay on France’s FIP Radio, and they have performed at festivals including Beaches Brew (Italy), Dekmantel and Lowlands (the Netherlands), among others.

Nusantara Beat will perform at INmusic Festival #18 as part of the European Talent Exchange (ETE) programme, a long-standing INmusic partner that supports European artists in performing at festivals across Europe and beyond. They join the already announced lineup of the festival’s 18th edition — which also marks 20 years of INmusic — alongside Gorillaz, Jack White, Kings of Leon, IDLES, The Flaming Lips, Manic Street Preachers, Jehnny Beth, Fat Dog, Sprints, KT Tunstall, Yonaka, Dry Cleaning and more.

INmusic Festival #18 will take place from 22 to 24 June 2026 at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake. Three-day tickets are available via the official INmusic webshop for 139 EUR (+ transaction fees), while a limited number of single-day tickets are on sale for 99 EUR (+ transaction fees). Seven-day camping tickets are also available for 59 EUR (+ transaction fees) and are valid only with a three-day festival ticket.
