Vlado Martek Returns to INmusic – A Visual Intervention Marking 50 Years of the Group of Six Authors

The return of Vlado Martek and his new interventions on the festival’s main stage will mark the culmination of the diverse artistic program at INmusic #17.

INmusic festival is proud to announce the continuation of its collaboration with Vlado Martek, one of the most significant contemporary artists from the region. Following his striking visual presence at last year's edition of the festival, Martek returns to the main stage of INmusic with two new works that will be displayed on the festival’s largest screen during the event.

Martek’s artistic expression, rooted in a poetic-conceptual practice, remains direct, engaged, and uncompromising—a distinctly punk approach to language and image. Through the interplay of words, gestures, and format, his works transcend the decorative and enter the realm of provocation, reflection, and personal responsibility.

This year’s intervention also marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Group of Six Authors—an artist collective that, since 1975, has radically reshaped the understanding of artistic action and exhibition in the region. One of the featured works is dedicated to the Group, serving as a homage to its unconventional, collective approach, carried out beyond institutional frameworks. The piece includes quotes from Group members: “I'm not crazy enough to paint bourgeois paintings.” (Demur), “Every time you take a pen in your hand, it’s an act of honesty.” (Martek), “There is no art without consequences.” (Mladen Stilinović), and “This is not my world.” (Jerman)—statements that continue to resonate with clarity, strength, and relevance. As part of this year’s collaboration, badges featuring Martek’s agitational slogans will be handed out to visitors participating in the VoxBox program – the festival’s “confessional booth.”

The impressive music program of INmusic festival #17 will feature some of the most exciting names from the global and regional music scene, including Air, Massive Attack, Fontaines D.C., Michael Kiwanuka, St. Vincent, The Streets, Kim Deal, Foster the People, Yard Act, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, The Murder Capital, YARD, and many more.

INmusic festival #17 will take place from June 23 to 25, 2025, at the well-known location of Zagreb’s Jarun lake islands. Three-day festival tickets are available through the official festival webshop at the price of 119 EUR (+ transaction fees), as well as at Dirty Old Shop (Tratinska 34, Zagreb). Seven-day camping tickets are exclusively available via the official webshop for 59 EUR (+ transaction fees), and a limited number of one-day tickets is also available exclusively online through the festival’s official website.
